What possible community can be discerned between the point-centered existence of material egoity, where our experience by and large takes place, and the periphery-centered existence of cosmic intelligence, where our experience before birth and after death takes place? I think these two different and incommensurable types of intelligence can be conceived to interact under, and only under, the presupposition of love, which is clearly a form of pre-arranged unity, and perhaps nothing but an a priori and cosmic set of wave functions and wave functional capacities. Outside the domain of love, we can be sure that no intelligent beings exchange any kind of meaningful (conceptual) contents.

The plausibility of this line of argument can perhaps be advanced by considering the meaning communities between ourselves, whose consciousness embraces three dimensions of space and one of time, and our domesticated animals, whose conscious experience is limited to two dimensions of space. These two forms of life are clearly able to exchange meaningful (conceptual) contents, and here again the social presupposition is love. The dog who faithfully guards my property, the horse who transports me to the village and back again, and the goose whom I feed liberally all converse with me on the moral basis of love. Outside the reciprocities, our lives and our experiences are as different as suns and planets
