To build a one dimensional space, which is a line, one takes a zero dimensional space, which is a point, and moves it uniformly in a single direction that is not contained inside it. The result is the series of points that make up a line. Similarly with the construction of a plane from a series of lines moved perpendicular to its own direction, and the construction of a three dimensional space from a series of planes moved in the direction of the remaining perpendicular. Something similar can occur in the human body during meditative concentration and energy practices such as Chinese chi kung. The proprioceptive sense can be used to cast a figure using points in the body (usually along the spine) connected energetically through the body’s breath and sustained over time. The result can be an intuitive opening into what can only be presumed to be the fourth dimension.
